The music of Gracie Muñoz

defies gravity and genre definition. She captures the light, rhythms, and swing of the world around her. A popular song stylist, Gracie’s original and cover songs echo the simple complexity of life’s sorrows and joys.

Gracie Muñoz melts the mold

in a variety of styles: Pop, Rap, Latin, Musica Romantica, Blues, Jazz, and Disco. A truly original artist, Gracie’s songs pulse with the heart of love, loss, labor and longing for the lighter side. Whether singing, dancing, or playing the flute, she’s ready to inspire.

Gracie’s musical journey

has not been on “Easy Street”. Visual/reading difficulties slowed down her progress in learning for years. Excelling in manual labor, she has lived the lyrics she sings about overcoming hardship and limitations. Although a late bloomer in the world of music, her years of dedicated practice and performance are paying off.

Largely self educated, Gracie got her start playing the flute in the Berkeley Public schools. Mr. Charles Hamilton was her music instructor/conductor and guide from the fourth to the eleventh grade. (Mr. Hamilton is a nationally applauded music educator.) She continued her adult musical education with the Peralta Community Colleges, San Francisco State, Rhiannon, and Stephanie Bruce. A San Francisco Bay Area native, Gracie “cut her teeth” working with many local band projects: Mosaico, Sonacay, The Fundudes, The Black Repertory Group, Brisa Dulce, Chameleon, and her own “Sonicroma” Latin mix band.

Her current performance and recording efforts are nothing short of entertaining. Stay tuned for more and more releases from Gracie Muñoz and her band mates as they bend back the borders of sound as you know it. Thanks for listening!
